Question - I want to become a perfumer. What do I need to do and how do I go about it?
Answer - Congratulations! There are a few avenues to enter the world of perfumery. What I did was to attend a university in Europe. There I had every mentionable exposure to perfumery.

Another option is to major in Organic Chemistry at the university of your choice, and get an apprenticeship at a perfume house in New York. You will more than likely find that a strong knowledge of organic chemistry is mandatory in order to create a variety of fragrances.

Thirdly is to go online and search for mini courses in perfumery that are offered by independent perfumeries, most likely in the United States, have a sincere interest in creating perfumes, as perfume raw ingredients can be quite expensive. It takes sincerity to learn perfumery and a great deal of time. Try to become acquainted with an organic chemist or mentor who can explain elements of chemistry to you. Always remember that you are handling aroma CHEMICALS.



Question - Is there a way to restore perfume once the fragrance goes flat and stale?
Answer - Once a perfume goes flat or stale there is nothing that can be done to restore it to its original scent. What probably happened is that the fragrance was cut with a NATURAL oil such as jojoba, without adding a preservative. When this happens, there is nothing to prevent the perfume from going rancid. The best cutting agent is Dipropylene Glycol. The dipropylene glycol has a molecular structure that will "wrap" itself around every molecule of fragrance and will thus "boost" your perfume.

Keep your fragrance in a cool, dry area, and away from windows as sunlight can unbalance the various ingredients. An opened bottle should be kept in its box to insure a longer shelf life.



Question - Where can I purchase Plumeria Perfume in the Netherlands. I can not find it anywhere in Europe.
Answer - At present we are working on a distributorship for our perfumes in the Netherlands. What I recommend is that if you know someone who is married to anyone in the American Military they have access to the Military BX Stores. They can go there and purchase Plumeria Perfume for you, and will be more than happy to do so.


Question - Are your products manufactured in CHINA?

Answer - No. Our products are all manufactured in the continental United States of America. We are not affiliated in any way with any trade or organizations with CHINA, HONG KONG, SINGAPORE, TAIWAN, THE PHILIPPINES, JAPAN OR ANY ASIAN (Chinese) COUNTRY. We want to maintain the high standard and therefore our products are not manufactured in any country other than the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Some of the ASIAN countries are known for putting human urine and other ungodly elements into cosmetics and fragrances. Just go to the google search engine "human urine in perfumes" "urine in perfume" and querry. The evidence is there. We do not have any dealings with them.

Tips Regarding Fake Perfumes

Be very careful if you purchase perfumes in New Orleans. There are a lot of street hawkers that sell fake perfumes in New Orleans.

It is estimated that up to 10% of perfumes and toiletries in the market place are fakes. In the past, raids on counterfeit goods have found perfumes containing urine as a stabiliser and alcopops containing anti-freeze. Poor quality labels and packaging on perfumes and cosmetics can often indicate that the items inside are not genuine.

THERE ARE MANY FAKE PERFUME'S ON EBAY MANY OF THEM COME FROM SELLERS ABROAD, BE CAREFUL WHO YOU BUY FROM. Many times a fake perfume vendor will be right here in the USA, but will contact a domain name registrar outside the USA, register the domain name with a foreign extension, and operate right here in the USA...giving the impression that the operation is outside the USA, but in reality is within the USA.

Top tips to avoid buying fakes include:
# Be suspicious about bargains. If something seems too good to be true, it probably is!
# Examine the quality of the goods. Does the quality feel as it should?
# Check labels and packaging for misspellings and poor logos.
# Take extra care at street markets, car boot sales, pubs and computer fairs, or in other situations where it may be more difficult to get in touch with the trader after the purchase.
# Beware of counterfeit goods sold through the internet

You should not buy fake goods for the following reasons
# The goods may be dangerous - fake perfume can cause skin rashes
# It is known that the sale of counterfeit/fake goods fund other criminal activity including drug dealing etc
# Fake goods deprive the copyright owner of money that can be used to fund new development.
# You may be putting local people out of jobs because genuine manufacturers can't compete with the criminals making and selling fakes.

Tips on buying original perfume at ebay:
# Buy from reputable seller
# ensure that the seller guarantees the perfume is 100% original and has return policy
# check the seller listings. Are the listings done professionally ?
# check if the seller is paypal verified. Sellers of counterfeit products are afraid to disclose their contact information. If the seller is paypal verified, paypal has done its part to ensure that the sellers provide the right address.

BEWARE OF OLD STOCK and STALE PERFUME
Perfume does deteriorate. The time period depends on temperature, light and length of storage. Sometimes when stores close down, they SELL OUT their old perfume stock. These typically end up in auctions, and discount shops/web sites at very cheap prices. Don't get caught out. Always make sure your supplier sells FRESH, not old stock. Honestly eBay is one of the worst places to buy genuine perfume. Don't get stung.

UNSUSPECTING consumers are dousing themselves in toxic toilet water, thinking it's Chanel No.5. Sophisticated fakes are passing for French perfumes, an investigation by consumer watchdog Choice has found. A flood of fragrance knock-offs are finding their way on to retail shelves, with more than 31,000 counterfeit fragrances seized in the past 18 months. Top brands being ripped off include Chanel No.5, Davidoff Cool Water and Joop Homme, which retail for up to $260 for 100ml. Many of the knock offs look identical to the real thing, except for the smell, Choice found. Many contain traces of urine and toxic chemicals, causing skin burning, rashes and respiratory problems. Choice spokesman Christopher Zinn said a fake perfume, unlike other imitations of designer goods, was not a bargain. Coty Australia, which distributes perfumes including Davidoff and Joop, said knock-offs were flooding in from Turkey, China and South America. Perfumes should last for up to six hours. Anything less it means it could be fake, the report said. Shoppers should buy genuine perfume from department stores, quality pharmacies and websites.
